He could sell a bathing suit to a native of Alaska. Does it matter that he needed a little something to bring him up? I should say not. Most of the comedians I've heard about take a little juice themselves to keep the funny rolling.
I'm not saying coke is right for you, or that I've done it myself. I haven't. I'm not really the upper type. But if that's what allowed Billy Mays to sell everything he's sold throughout his life, let him have that little crutch. I mean, I can think of one particular musician who has totally sucked since he stopped doing heroin (of course that's different).
At any rate, shouldn't we all be thinking about the wonderful joy he brought us in those short commercials and long infomercials? I'd say we should be praising his ability to sell us crap we didn't and still don't need, and not his inability to be perfect.
